My cousin, Stephanie, told me a month ago, that she would love to go with the kids and me to the zoo. She knew we went all the time, and it just so happened that she was off today and it was supposed to be a beautiful day. We also asked her friend, Sarah, and her little girl, Hallie, to come along with us. Hallie is a month and a day older than Callie.
We met Stephanie, Sarah, and Hallie in the parking lot and the fun began. Tyler was so excited when he saw Stephanie. He had already asked me earlier this morning if Stephanie's dog, Oliver, was going to be joining us. He did not understand why Stephanie could not bring him. Stephanie pushed Tyler in the umbrella stroller and I pushed Callie in her carseat, in her stroller. It was nice going to the zoo and not having to carry Callie and push Tyler. It usually is an exhausting trip, if I go by myself. As soon as we saw camels, Tyler started begging to ride one. Usually when Scott and I take him, the camels are not there. I told him that I did not want to ride the camel today and that his daddy would ride with him next time we came. Stephanie said that she would ride with him. He was sooooooooooo excited. Callie was not a fan of being in her carseat and I ended up having to carry her in the carrier after all. She soon fell asleep after a bit of fussing. We went through the whole zoo and of course could not skip the carousel and the cow. Tyler and Steph rode the carousel and Rob, the carousel man, loved talking to Tyler each time he came around. Then we went down near the petting zoo to the cow that the kids can milk. "Oh my goodness, Mom, the cow is gone." I thought Tyler was going to loose it. I asked the girl at the petting zoo where the cow was and she informed us that it was being repaired, so it could be milked again. Once I explained to Tyler that it would be back, he was ok with it. We had a great time with Stephanie, Sarah, and Hallie. I hope we can do it again soon. I think we showed Steph a pretty good time.
