Scott, my mom, Tyler and I went to my appointment yesterday morning for my ultrasound. I was so excited all night last night that I did not sleep. I woke up at 6:15, which never happens. Tyler, of course, was bothering the ultra sound tech during the whole ultrasound for gloves. He was WILD. She kept having trouble getting my little rascal to spread his/her legs. She kept moving my belly around to try to get the baby to move. Instead of getting right to the gender check, she went ahead and got all the measurements for the 20 week ultrasound. Everything looked GREAT! No problems with my fluid and the heartbeat, like last time. All of a sudden she said, it's a girl! We were all saying, what, are you sure. How do you know? She showed us the three lines that are the labia. We asked how sure she was and she said 100%. Pretty for sure I would think. She has been working for my doctor as the ultrasound tech/radiologist for 20 years. She probably does know what she is talking about. Hopefully, at least. I was shocked. I think we all were. Tyler was right all along. He has been saying that I was having a sister for months. I had convinced myself that it was not possible I was having a girl, that I really did not even think about it being possible. I wanted a girl so bad, but knew there was no chance. The theory that Santel boys can not produce baby girls, has been proven wrong. We are very excited to have a healthy baby and also excited it's a girl. I will post pictures of the ultrasound and the funny pictures showing why Tyler will NEVER go back to an OB appointment again.
Yesterday afternoon, Tyler and I went to Babies R Us with my friend, Kim, and her two boys. She had to get some things and I said I would love to go too. I was actually VERY GOOD, and did not buy ANYTHING. Kim on the other hand could not resist two precious, Carter outfits. She is so sweet and I was very excited to get my first, outfits. I have been online since we got home I think, looking at all the girl stuff I can find. I am ready to have the spare room cleaned out and start on the nursery. If I can ever narrow down my choices.
Mom, Dad, Will, Grandma, Scott, Tyler, and I are heading to the beach tonight. I can't wait to go shopping. I have already said I would probably spend more time shopping than being out in the sun. I will try to post pictures daily, so check back.
